As a USCIS Certified
Translation Services provider primarily translating from
Portuguese Language into English, Certified Portuguese Translation and a
Translation Service Provider for the U.S Immigration, we are faced with
the most common questions about many translation topics.
We will update this page as the questions arise!
This is
the most common question we get:
Can
anyone other than me
do the translation and sign the
document stating that they are a "Certified Translator"? How do
I get this done?
The U.S. Immigration,
Department of Homeland Security, Universities,Schools, only accept a
translation that is certified by a certified translator. Usually comes
on a company letter head, signature, and a seal. Do not waste your time
trying to submit a translated document and not being certified.
1.) Where can I notarize a document?
You can notarize your document at any notary public. If you
cannot find a notary public, start by visiting your local bank. They
usually have notary public in the branch. The good part of it is that if
you have an account with them, the notary is free!
2.) Are you a notary public?
No. We are a translation agency that focus on providing
certified translations from Portuguese to English. In fact, there is no
indication that the USINS, Department of Homeland Security does
not require to notarize the translation. They do require certification.
3.) Who can
translate Portuguese document to English?
One must exercise care when hiring someone to translate your
legal documents. There are quite a few so called " translators" that
advertise such services. These individuals will take your document and
charge outrageous fees and take longer than expected to deliver your
translation. We have seen it all. Some of these so called "translators"
will provide you with a translation that the USCIS or the Department of
Homeland Security will not accept.
4.) How much do you charge for the translation?
Our charges are based on urgency. We strive to assist all of
our customers with a fair price based on quality and speedy delivery.
Yet, in some instances, we are forced to charge extra for emergency
translations. Our basic fees cover the translation, certification, and
first-class mail. Next day delivery is available for an extra charge.
5.) What does it means a Certified Translation to English of
a document?
Any foreign language document offered by a party in a
proceeding shall be accompanied by an English language translation and a
certification
signed by the translator that must be printed legibly or typed. Such
certification must include a statement that the translator is competent
to translate the document, and that the translation is true and accurate
to the best of the
translator's
abilities.

documents for the U.S. Immigration. We can help you in translating and
